The 915 Five features El Paso’s musicians and artists answering the same five questions. Each installment offers a stripped-down look at the people shaping the 915’s cultural landscape, in their own words. We’re going a bit heavy this week with Letter From Wolves.
Band/Artist Name: Letters From Wolves
Line-up: Bryan Herrera (Guitars / producer), Erwin Amezcua (Guitar), Andrea Vasquez (drums), Adam Tellez (vocals) and Paul Monarez (Bass / Lights)
Formed: The official forming was in 2022, Andrea and Bryan were in a band called Janet Ann and were bringing it back, but the other three members weren’t able to right at the beginning so Bryan and Andrea continued with a new name and brought Adam in around 2024.

1. What high school did you go to?
Bryan went to Mayfield High in Las Cruces
2. What’s your favorite local venue to play — and why?
Rockhouse! The sound is amazing! Shout out to Bunny (David) Moral!
3. If you had to describe your sound without using a genre label, what would you say?
Dark tones, pretty melodies, energy driven, face melting breakdowns.
4. What do you do when the song isn’t coming — push through, scrap it or something else?
If a song won’t come together, we go back to the riff bank. Bryan is ALWAYS writing so we can go and see if there are any riffs that will fit, sometimes walking away from it for some time and coming back to it helps complete a song.
5. If someone is seeing you live for the first time, what should they expect?
Choreography, lots of moving around, crowd interaction, light show! We throw on a hell of a show!
